| Right now I am reading Metamorphosis by Kafka. I just finished reading The Kite Runner by Hosseini. I am searching for a long time or longer novel to read. One of my teachers talked about reading The Dumbest Generation by Bauerlein. I have only read a little of it.
I just don't have time for reading anymore saddly. GG my life.

| There's always time for reading, even if it's just on the john(like this guy). I'm currently reading Dracula for the fourth time, haven't read anything really awesome for a bit. Ash was supposed to bring me some atypical American lit, but she DID NOT. So, I need some recommendations. | |

| I would join the book club. I'd like to read some of the classics because I never really get a chance to do so. Please remind me when this starts, I'm way into it. |

| I understand book and comic books are different but whatever. I will look for the first three comics in the daredevil "Last rites " four issue comic. Plus I will look for 2-6 of "Robin III:Cry of the huntress". I don't know if I will buy all of these this week but I will see what I can find and what I can afford! | |

| I'm just about to finish The Trainer by Laura Antoniou. After this one, I think I might read the Ian Fleming James Bond novels. I didn't really care for the continuation of the series by John Gardner and others. Gardner's stories were kinda humourless and without charm.
Maybe I'll do The Lord of the Rings.
OH! I'll make a thread in a wee bit, but it looks like the first book up for the book/movie club will be Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.

| I received a book of poetry with over a 1000 pages of different poems by various poets on it. I might post some of my favorite poems on this forum.
Also I've found Joy Luck Club in my shelf the other day. I've already read that book, but it was some odd years ago. And I found my high school and middle school summer reading list. I remember reading Life of Pi, A Prayer for Owen Meany, Great Expectations, and Dune. But some of the books on the list I forgot the story and plot too. I might try to reread those books, well the ones I like of course. For example: Ivanhoe, Black like Me, and My Antonia.
I've also started reading Korean novels (since I watch Korean dramas all day. . .). I borrowed Lost Names: Scenes from a Korean Boyhood by Richard Kim from a friend.

| I can't be responsible for culturing Kyle. Also, I'm forgetful.
So, if I'd brought Kyle books, they'd have been Blood Meridian (Cormac McCarthy -- your fave), Sanctuary (Faulkner), The Violent Bear it Away (Flannery O'Connor), and, now, the Maytrees (Annie Dillard), which I had the pleasure of listening to on my way back to Houston (yayay books on tape!).
I've got a full semester of Gothic novels, 16th century non-dramatic literature, and graphic novels ahead of me. And I'm trying to finish Moby Dick. And I want to read Franny and Zooey. Maybe I'll pass some of those along to you, Kyre. You know, after I'm done making sure they're good enough for ye'.

| Oooh, and if you're into poetry you should check out Adrienne Rich's "The Fact of a Doorframe." It's a larger collection of her works and they're all amazing and beautiful and gut wrenching. I never knew how much I loved poetry until I read this (well, I think I knew when I was reading John Donne in undergrad, but I forgot for a while). | |

| Free comic book day is this Saturday, in fact it is the first Saturday in May every single year. That link has the list of comics available for free at different comic book retailers nationwide. You can search your zip code to find the closest one participating as well. This is a great day for all people in and wanting to be in the business IMO as many places have artists and writers signings and chatting with fans. Some places even mark down non-free comics even as cheap as a dollar! As someone that has a passion for writing and art I love comics and I try to go to Alter Ego (The comic store in my city) monthly, and this fits into my schedule perfectly. I wanted to let people who may care know about this awesome event. Thanks for reading! =D |

| Is reading dead these days? Kappa. Well I started Shodowland (Marvel comics) and the first issue was great I may get the main series in a trade paper back or track down the others. I kinda want the TPB's of Criminal (Icon) by Ed Brubaker too. | |

| I got the Shadowland trade paper back...it was 20 bucks so thats all I got from Alter Ego. They no longer have the half off older books, it is a seasonal thing. Unless I can commit to reading a comic series (I NEVER do) I'll just stuck to a couple TPBs every few months. | |
