| So, I thought I'd throw this out there to measure the interest level. I'm thinking about starting up a sort of hella nerdy book and movie club. Every month or so, we'd select a book to collectively read and discuss. After everyone participating has read the book, we get th emovie adaptation, watch and discuss it.
What do you guys think? | |

| As an aside, this is the worst thing ever. | |

| I used to console myself with 'At least they're reading'. That mantra doesn't work anymore. Not when I see Mitchell sitting there under that heap of trash. It breaks my heart. | |

| I am all for this! And no. No way. I refuse to believe that Twilight is anywhere near as good as Anna Karenina or The Glass Castle.
EDIT: Or Of Mice and Men.
EDIT 2: Or The Color Purple.
EDIT 3: Or Frankenstein. My Sister's Keeper. The Bell Jar.
EDIT 4: What the actual fuck.

| I'd definitely be interested. I really need to read more. Even if I just use this for incentive.
Are we expected to go into all the hidden meaning shit like english lit classes? Because personally I think most writers don't even think about all that bullshit, they are just putting pen to paper.
Fuck I hated 'Of Mice And Men'. Having to dissect that awful shit for almost a year was agony.

If you cut off all of the Twilight crap (and maybe bump the Harry Potter stuff down), it's not too bad of a list. That is, if the Twilight stuff was gone. But yeah, this sounds like a great idea. I could even provide a couple suggestions for good books to chew on, if you'd like.

| Okay, so it looks like there's enough interest in this to give it a go. Haley, can you make a Book Club subforum for us? | |
